Privacy policy

1. GENERAL

With the following data protection information, we, Farmdok GmbH, explain which personal data is collected when using the Farmdok system as well as when visiting the farmdok.com website (as well as all subsites e.g. app.farmdok.com), why and how we use this data.

The collection, administration and use of personal data by Farmdok complies with the applicable data protection law, in particular the DSG 2000 (Austrian Data Protection Act 2000) as well as the European guidelines on data protection law.

Special note regarding the automatic action recording functions: The advantage of Farmdok arises, among other things, from the evaluation of certain sensors of your smartphone, such as GPS position data, speed and acceleration. The use of this data enables automatic measure recording and facilitates your operational documentation. While recording a measure in the field, the location is also recorded when the app is in the background. There is no use, evaluation or sharing of the data beyond your explicit consent. In any case, the collected data is protected from unauthorized access by state-of-the-art measures.

2. WHAT DATA WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT

  • First name and last name
  • Home address or other postal address (including street and city name)
  • Email address
  • Miscellaneous farm information (e.g., farm number, type & size of farm).

Use: In the course of using Farmdok, other operational & user-specific data is collected to fulfill the functions and services offered by Farmdok, these include:

  • Master and usage data of areas, operating equipment and resources
  • Agricultural activities

Storage & Analysis: Farmdok stores and uses personal data in particular to enable the user to use the system safely, efficiently and personally, as well as to develop new applications, improve existing ones and adapt them to the users’ needs. We use personal data solely for the purpose of fulfilling the contract. Without your express consent, no further use will be made outside the legal regulations.

These are used by Farmdok to provide a more user-friendly, effective and secure service. You can refuse the use of cookies in the settings of your browser. 3. HOW YOU AFFECT WHAT DATA OTHERS SEE

Operational data: To a certain extent, the plant manager can decide for himself which plant-related information other users from his own plant are allowed to see and change. This is done primarily by distributing the system roles Admin and User. The “Admin” role is able to view, change, add or delete comprehensive data, while the “User” role can essentially view and add limited data. The “Admin” role decides on the assignment of the system role.

User-related data: Individualizable, personal data can be changed to a certain extent by each user. The plant manager can see all the customizable data of all users authorized to use the plant, but cannot change it. Only the user’s authorizations at the site can be influenced by the site manager (see 3.1).

4. WHO WE PROVIDE DATA TO

Farm Manager: The farm manager can view and change all data relevant to his own farm (e.g. master data, areas, inputs, measures) even if they were not created by him (apart from user-related data according to 3.2). The path that is recorded in the course of an agricultural measure can be displayed on a map. We care about the privacy of all users, therefore this position information (as far as automated possible) is limited to the actual work on the field (restrictions exist here for the license Farmdok Plant Protection).

Other users at the farm: According to default settings, each user can only see and modify his own personal data in the system. The plant manager can adjust these permissions (see 3.1)

Third-party: Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties, in particular for advertising purposes, unless this is required by law or the user gives his express consent.

5. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

Security: Data transfer between your devices (PC, notebook, smartphone, etc.) and the Farmdok system is encrypted (SSL encryption). The Farmdok authorization management controls which data can be seen or changed by the user. We take all reasonably necessary measures to ensure that unauthorized third parties cannot access stored data.

Availability:  Farmdok ensures that your data is not lost even in an emergency (e.g. fire, hardware damage). To ensure this, we work with professional hardware service providers in Europe. We also keep data only as long as we need it to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will also delete this data. Please note: (a) there may be some time between deletion from our servers and deletion from our backup storage, and (b) we may retain this information in order to comply with our legal obligations or enforce contracts.

6. REFERENCES (HYPERLINKS) TO EXTERNAL WEBSITES

The Farmdok website and Farmdok may contain hyperlinks to external websites operated by third parties. If you follow these, you leave the sphere of influence of Farmdok. Farmdok assumes no responsibility for the services and performance of third parties, neither technically nor in terms of content.

7. GOOGLE ANALYTICS

The Farmdok website uses Google Analytics, a network analysis service provided by Google Inc (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies” (see point 2). The information concerning the visit of a website, including the IP address, is collected by the cookie and usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If a website has IP anonymization enabled, Google first shortens IP addresses from member states of the European Union and EEA countries. The full IP address is then, only as an exception, transmitted to the Google server in the USA and only shortened there. Google uses the information collected on behalf of the website provider to analyze the use of the farmdok.com website and to compile reports on website activity.

Users can prevent Google’s recording and Google’s processing of information regarding the use of farmdok.com, including IP address, by downloading and installing the following browser plugin: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
